THE DARKEST HOUR (Cry of an angel) Season 1 Episode 11

"I'm from Ndiogoro village though i don't visit home regularly" David replied.
"Ndiogoro?" Udoka repeated surprisingly. Her spoon rested on her plate while her eyes fixed on David.
"Yes, any problem?"
"No" Udoka began to eat again.
"Are you sure?" David was still inquisitive but she kept quiet. "Where are you from too?" he added.
"My father's hometown is Ndiogoro too" Udoka replied.
"Wow.. what a coincidence? How's your father?"
"He's late"
David suspended his food and consoled her with a word. When he tried to push further about her father and hometown, Udoka prevented him. They also discussed about their academy before both remained quiet. David held one of her hands in the silence and looked in her eyes. "Your beauty is incomparable" he began. "There is nothing that occupies my mind the most except you ever since i met you. Your image and beauty keep reflecting in my mind each night. I feel like I'm connected to you emotionally. Please, will u be part of my life?"
Udoka had been staring and listening to words she had never heard before except on television. She glanced at David's hand which clutched with her's on the table then looked at him again. She didn't know what to say but found herself asking, "What do you mean by part of your life?"
"It simply means that i want a relationship with you" David replied.
"Like boyfriend and girlfriend?"
"Yes, please, don't say no"
Udoka gently withdrew her hand from his and placed it together with the other hand under the table. "David?" she began. "I'm afraid of my response coz sincerely i haven't done this kind of thing before and.." she paused. She wanted to tell him about them not being accepted in their father's hometown but suddenly bent her face down.
"And what?" David asked.
"Nothing" Udoka raised her head trying to withhold her tears. "I'm sorry, i can't accept your request" she added.
David was heartbroken. Therefore, he stared at her speechlessly. He never expected that, but something was obvious to him; that Udoka had something she didn't want to tell him. "Udoka" he began. "I know you're troubled and that's the reason you don't want to accept my proposal. Talk to me, what's the problem?"
"Nothing" Udoka replied.
"Then why the refusal? Don't you love me?"
Udoka kept quiet. She brought up her hand on the table unknowingly then David held it again.
"I love you so much. I promise to keep my words. Nothing matters to me the most now" David added but there was no positive response..

Darkness had taken over the atmosphere when Mrs Williams returned to meet only Monica at home. She was still in her church attire. She had attended a meeting where she also waited for the heavy rain to stop.
"Welcome mother" Monica stood up from the cushion.
"Thank you" the mother replied sitting on the bed and taking off her voluminous headtie. "Where is your sister?" she asked.
"Mother, you wasted time" Monica changed the topic instantly walking to the cooking pot. "Let me get you some food to eat" she gave her mother a plate of food then wanted to go out but she called her back.
"You've not told me where your sister is"
"Mother, she went to buy something"
"Like what?"
"She didn't tell me" Monica replied then the mother glanced at the wall clock: 6:50pm.

Udoka withdrew her hand again. "Please take me home, it's getting late" she said.
With a broken heart, David ordered another plate of food with chicken in a takeover and drinks. After they brought it, he handed them to Udoka who became surprise.
"Why these again?" she asked
"They are for your sister. What's her name?"
"Monica"
"Okay, give them to Monica"
Udoka gradually took it before they headed to the car after payment. Both remained quiet inside the car glancing at each other occasionally. Dim blue and red light shone from the car CD but nothing was playing. Suddenly, Udoka witnessed Sandra's call again then David picked it.
"Aren't you at home yet?" Sandra sounded on the phone. Udoka could hear the feminine voice but didn't understand what the voice as saying.
"Yes, i will call you" David replied then cut the call again. He dropped the phone without looking Udoka.
Few minutes later they arrived at the front of Udoka's compound.
"Thanks" Udoka said.
"I'll see you at work tomorrow" David wanted to go open the door for her but she refused and came out by herself. Unfortunately, Sunny saw her coming out and the car driving off. Both met at the entrance of the house.
"Yes, now i see why e be say if i talk, u go talk" Sunny began.
"What do you mean by that?" Udoka asked.
"It's because a man with a car services you that's why u have the guts to talk back at me anytime"
"I don't know what u are talking about" Udoka opened the gate.
"You will know when i tell your mother where i saw u"
Hearing that, Udoka returned. "Please, don't tell my mother nah!"
"In one condition"
"What?" Udoka glared at him.
Sunny looked around and lowered his voice. "Unless u give me that thing under your skirt u gave to that man too" he said..
