Alex kept lamenting on how his work for the day was hectic. His necktie got loosen while part of his shirt flew out from his black trouser. He looked stressed, frustrated and exhausted as he glared at Kate and at the same time poured out his anger which she couldn't take anymore. Therefore she began to shed tears from the chair in which she sat.
"Alex!" Mrs. Nancy called thereby interrupting him from lamenting angrily. She didn't like the manner in which he was talking and looking at her daughter which triggered tears from her eyes. Therefore she stood up looking at Alex who was breathing hastily. Anger could be traced from her eyes too. "Stop raising your voice unnecessarily especially at my daughter. Is she the cause of your hectic day? Can't you see she's being hurt emotionally?" she added.
"I'm sorry, ma'am" Alex apologized calmly.
"You should be, otherwise you'll have nothing to do with her ever again! You should go find a solution to your own problem all by your..."
"Mum!" Kate interrupted and stood up instantly. She walked pass Alex and stood before her mother in a way she was in between the two then continued in a lower voice. "Mum, stop sounding that way. It's part of him, he gets angrily easily especially when it has to do with something that will sabotage his carrier"
"Then he should control it because i can't tolerate that in my presence!" the mother retorted then the room became quiet. Alex glanced at the centre table where the key of his house was. He had left it for Kate before going to work that day, so he gently picked it. The jingling of the bunch of key brought Kate's attention so she turned to see Alex ready to leave.
"Baby.." she called in a broken voice.
"I'm sorry, i have to go i need a rest" Alex looked at Mrs. Nancy. "Once again, I'm sorry ma'am. I have to be on my way now" he began to walk towards the door.
"Baby.. Alex!" Kate tried to stop him but he had already used the exit then she turned to her mother in tears. "Mum, what's going on?"
"I'm sorry my daughter but you need to stay away from Alex" the mother replied.
"Why?"
"His life is complicated now. From what i have seen and heard from him, he has a hazardous days ahead, so is better you let him be"
"You know i can't do that, mum. I love him so much. We should look for a way to help him, not to abandon him" Kate objected and briskly walked into her room.

At Alex's residence, one could see him flinging out his clothes from a box. The day was gradually becoming dark but the availability of power subdued the darkness that should have overtaken the sanctum. As Alex was scattering his box, his phone rang but he ignored it knowing very well it was Kate. Just then, he brought out a large album containing different faces and their details. Those were people he graduated with which many of them are working successfully. He picked his phone, dialed one's number from there.
"Hello, Jim.." Alex said on the phone.
Jimmy, popularly known as Jim was Alax's friend right from higher institution who studied geography. He's a gentle and quiet guy who doesn't like to stress himself for anything.
"Who's this?" Jimmy asked on the phone too.
"It's Alex"
"Alex Frank?"
"Exactly"
"Guy.."
"Jim, listen to me" Alex interrupted seriously. "I'm in a mess. I need to see you immediately"
"What's going on?" Jimmy queried voraciously.
"I want you to examine a dead body for me, tell me how long it has been there and other details about this particular body.." Alex explained everything to Jimmy.

THE NEXT DAY
That was on Friday early morning. Jimmy arrived at Alex's residence with another person and all drove straight to the forest where the dead body was.
"That's it" Alex pointed upward looking at the skeleton.
"Alright, we can handle this" Jimmy replied as he began to wear a hand-glove. He glanced at Alex to see him looking restless. "Calm down, bro. I do believe in reincarnation but i don't think it's what you are experiencing" he added.
"Then what am i experiencing?" Alex asked.
"Let's see what we gonna find out from here while you go to work"
"Sure" Alex left to work instantly.

6:54pm
Banking activities ended for the day without Alex experiencing any bad omen thinking he was a bit okay. He sat in his apartment with Kate beside him. Jimmy was also done with his research and was ready to announce the outcome thereby increasing their pertubation. Kate, who had been briefed on who Jimmy was also stared at him in anticipation.
"Jim, what did you find out?" Alex asked enthusiastically.
"How old are you now?" Jimmy queried as he took of his eyeglasses.
"I'm twenty five"
"I see.. Listen, Alex" Jimmy began. "After several research we made, we found out that the body is up to twenty five years there"
Hearing that, Kate and Alex looked at each other..

The kitchen was totally modernized even the utensils in it.
Mrs Nancy Ethen, Kate's mother suddenly averted her eyes from her daughter but opened her ears very well to listen to what she had to say about her fiance, Alex.
"He heard a strange bell" Kate began. "According to him, nobody heard it but him. And afterward, a dog led him to a forest where he saw a dead body, a skeleton hanging on a tree"
Hearing that, the mother suspended whatever thing she was doing and stared at Kate seriously which showed that it wasn't a minor issue. Mrs Nancy never mentioned anything for a while thereby getting Kate worried.
"Mum, any problem?"
"Yes"
"What?"
"All that you said is a sign of reincarnation. I guess the death soul of someone lives in the body of Alex, probably the one he saw on the tree"
"Reincarnation?" Kate became confused. The last time she heard the word was in her high school days when their teacher said something about it. Though she never believed in it. Therefore, she said to her mother, "Mum, i don't believe in reincarnation. If someone is dead, he is dead. No two ways about it"
Mrs Nancy smiled then resumed her work: cutting of carrot. "Some people reincarnate. No two ways about it too" she said.
"But why the reincarnation after death?" Kate queried.
"For the purpose to achieve what they couldn't achieve when they were alive. This often take place on people who die premature death or killed by someone" the mother concluded while Kate remained mute but suddenly left the kitchen.

Back to Zenith Back, Alex covered his ears to enabled him get rid of the sound of the bell but it didn't help. He sat in the chair with his face downward until a hand touched his shoulder. Immediately, the bell stopped ringing and he looked up to see who touched him. It was Glory.
"The manager wants to see us"
"Pardon?"
"I said the manager wants to see us!" Glory shrieked.
"Alright" Alex followed her to the manager's office. On their way, he kept observing things and people who seemed as if he had seen them before in the past acting in a way that was familiar. He ignored it until he found himself standing before the manager who rubbed the butt of a pen on a paper staring at the two staffs.
"You've started being careless, Alex. You've damaged a document that i suppose to submit to another branch. What has come over you?"
"I don't know sir. I mean, I'm sorry sir"
"Can your apology revert the document?"
"No, sir"
All became quiet. Glory kept glancing at Alex and looking at the manager with a pleading eyes because he knew he could fire both of them instantly without thinking twice. Yes, that was the kind of person Iyk, the manager, was. He doesn't tolerate nonsense.
"Sir, please.." Glory wanted to say but Iyk rebuked her.
"Shut up! This shouldn't have happened if you were also careful! Now what a hell do you wonna to apologize for?" Silence creep in again. Alex didn't want to lose his job neither did Glory wanted to. So both waited for the last judgement from the manager.
"Get out of here both of you" Iyk ordered.
"Thank you sir" both said at the same time and left the office.

Through out the working period, Alex kept making unnecessary mistakes. He was happy that the work finally came to an end, so he stepped out of the bank and took the next available cab. After he entered, his cell phone rang.
"Hi" Kate said on the phone. "Can you please come over to the house?" she added.
"Which of the houses?" Alex queried.
"My house"
"Why?"
"My mum said something"
"About what?"
"Please, come" Kate hung up the call while the cab-driver nearly hit a child thereby matching the break forcefully but released it again. "Idiot!" he cursed the child. That incident also seemed to Alex as if it had happened somewhere in the past.

At the residence of Mrs Nancy, Alex helplessly sat on one of the cushions with Kate sitting beside him too. His only father died after his youth service programme. He never relented but made sure he achieve his goal-working in a bank. Opposite the two spouse was Mrs Nancy sitting on a different cushion.
"Kate told me what happened to you in the morning. It's normal but yours isn't ordinary. It's called reincarnation. Trust me, you are living the life of someone who died in the past"
"Wait wait wait" Alex began angrily. "I don't get it. I do believe in reincarnation but why is mind different. Why is it not ordinary?"
"It's because of the sound of the bell you hear" Mrs Nancy replied.
"What does the bell signify?"
"I have no idea"
The sittingroom remained calmed and quiet. Kate could feel Alex burning in anger. Therefore she tried to change the topic.
"Baby, how was work.."
"It was hectic!" Alex stood up. "I nearly got fired. I keep observing and doing things which are not suppose to be done!"
Hearing that, Mrs Nancy opened her eyes widely..

Alex became woozy when he heard Kate saying that the ringing bell tried to tell him about the dead body he found in the heart of the bush. Therefore he walked towards the television set and drank more of the alcoholic drink in his hand. He suddenly turned to Kate and said, "What concerns me with a dead person who i don't even know?"
"I don't know, Alex but..." Kate moved closer to him. "I think we should forget about this. It means nothing" she added hoping to sound convincing because she didn't want him to get worried about it. That wasn't what she expected for a happy morning, so she walked into the kitchen again and came out with cooked noodles. "Breakfast is ready" she announced.

Alex was just a junior staff in Zenith Bank. It had not been long he was employed so he tried his best to be punctual, effective and productive. He loves his job and was willing to do anything to keep it because he suffered and struggled not only to get it but also got to that level. Anything that would make him descend from that position instead of ascending to another one, he was ready to do away with it regardless who or what the thing is. He walked inside the bank wearing a black plain trouser and longsleeve shirt which he tucked in. After the shirt was a black suit with his ID card dangling by the side. He reached the door of his office and tried to open it but it stocked. He shook it with force yet the door refused to open. Other bankers around concentrated on him. When he finally pushed the door opened, he observed something: it seemed to him as if he had done something like that before in the past, so he stopped and looked around his office. Nevertheless, he walked straight to his chair, boot the computer before him on the table and tried to open a file but several papers fell down from it. There was also a half drank water-bottle on the table which he left the previous day. As he bent to pick up the papers, his cell phone fell down too and broke. "My God, what is all this!?" he shrieked and ignored everything touching his beards silently. He couldn't figure out what was happening. Just then, a fellow female worker, Glory, entered with a big file in her hand. After glancing at the nasty floor, she saw Alex lost in thought. She was totally fair in complexion with a transparent pair of eyeglasses on her face having a Brazilian hair. She also wore a black trouser and suit.
"Alex?" Glory called enthusiastically then Alex came back to his senses.
"Hi, good morning" he greeted and began to park the papers immediately. He first-of-all picked his broken phone.
"Are you okay" Glory stepped forward.
"Yeah"
"I don't think so" she sat on a chair opposite him. "What happened?" she asked pleasingly.
Alex exhaled heavily after picking the papers and said, "I struggled to open the door, papers fell on the floor, when i tried to pick them, my cell phone fell down too and got broken then i went deep in thought. That's what happened" he explained without a single smile.
"What were you thinking?" Glory queried again.
"It doesn't matter"
"Oh.. I see. Sorry for that anyways"
"Thanks. What can i do you for?"
"Just sign this document for me"
"Okay"
Glory walked to Alex, stood beside him and placed the file that contained the document on the table before him. After he signed it, dropped the pen and tried to hand over the file to her, he mistakingly fell the bottle-water whose water soaked the document very well.
"Christ!" Glory flung the document up immediately while Alex took up the bottle-water instantly.
"I'm sorry" he apologized.
"You are sorry?"
"Yes, I'm.."
"Alex, you are not yourself!" Glory interrupted angrily. "Do you know the consequences of what you've just done? The manager needs the document now and believe you me, he won't take it likely to see it damaged like this!" Just after she lamented, Alex began to hear the sound of the bell again. So he stood up swiftly staring at Glory.
"Can you hear that?"
"What!?"
"The bell"
"What bell?"
"Glory, listen carefully is ringing!" Alex held her two shoulders and shook it vigorously but Glory stared at him as if he had gone bonkers.
"I'm not insane" Alex added.
"The first time i checked, you weren't but you are proving to be now. Let's see how the manager will react to this scene you just created" Glory walked out. Yet the bell never stopped ringing..

Kate had left to her mother's and joined her in the kitchen immediately. Mrs Nancy Ethen, the mother was in her early fifties.
"You never told me you'll be sleeping over at Alex's"
"I'm sorry mum" Kate got busy.
"Remember he's not your husband yet, you are just his fiancy"
"I know mum"
"How's he doing?"
"Fine but.." Kate paused and looked at her mother. "Mum, something happened to him this morning" she said while the mother looked at her too..

REINCARNATION (The Bell) Season 1 Episode 1

Alex woke up very early in the morning for an exercise. He flung the blanket of the bed that covered him and his girlfriend, Kate up then stepped down naked and began to dress up for the exercise. Morning dew was the nature of the weather which he normally likes because it makes him exercise more than he expects. Distant vehicles and trailers kept making a pandemonium as he sat on the edge of the bed putting on his sport shoes. He had already worn his black track suit and wristwatch which had his complexion. Never had any hair been seen on his head-he barbs it completely every two weeks. He is tall with a pointed nose and small eyes looking innocent, humble and harmless. He walked towards the door after getting ready but Kate groaned half-asleep and interrupted him saying, "Where are you going?"
"Wonna do a little jogging" Alex replied with his hand on the doorknob. "Do you wonna join me?" he added.
"No"
"Why?"
"Coz you never told me you'll be doing that this morning. Moreover, it's very cold"
Alex smiled. "Simply tell me you want another sex or probably morning sex"
"Get a hell out of here, silly boy" Kate blindedly threw a billow at him with a smile.
"I'm off" Alex clutched the doorknob. "I love you" he said and finally went out to the cold.

Along the road where Alex jogged, cars and passengers kept moving to and fro. The road was straight and long without a single pothole. By the side of it were houses having almost the same building pattern. A tall ornamental crop could be seen in front of each house. After several minutes Alex jogged along the road, he stopped to the sound of a strange bell which kept ringing continuously from nowhere. He looks at other people who were passing-by to know if they were also hearing the ringing of the bell but non showed a reaction to it which means there weren't hearing it. "What is going on?" Alex thought and tapped the nearest girl beside him. "Can you here that?" he asked.
"Hear what?" the girl returned the question.
"The bell"
"What bell?"
"It's ringing. Can't you hear it?"
The young girl shook her head negatively and looked at Alex as if he was insane before leaving his presence. Suddenly a dog under the ornamental crop in front of one of the houses began to bark at Alex who stared at it. It ran to him, touched him with it's tail then began to run along the road too.
"I think the dog can hear it" Alex said and ran after it. On their way where there was no single house but bushes, the dog ran inside one of them. Alex hesitated to follow it into the bush but when the sound of the bell got intense, he rushed inside flinging away grasses. "Where are you taking me to?!" he shouted at the dog. Sooner did he notice that he was in the heart of the bush. He stopped and watched the dog bark under a tree. Instantly, the bell stopped ringing then he gently walked to the dog whose eyes were upward. He also looked upward but couldn't believe what he saw on the tree!

Alex returned to the house but didn't see Kate in bed anymore-she was in the kitchen. The apartment was one bedroom flat with toilet and a kitchen. It was a typical bachelor's house: the single bed, television, wardrobe, bags on the floor and PS game along side with the television. Alex didn't bother to go into the kitchen when he returned and heard Kate preparing breakfast, rather he pulled out a bottles of alcoholic drink and began to drink quietly in confusion and worries. Just then, Kate came out. She wore a long gown which she supported with a hand.
"Why are you drinking when I'm making breakfast?"
"I need to get my senses together"
"With an alcohol?" Kate sat beside him on the edge of the bed. "Baby, tell me, what's wrong?"
"I heard the sound of a ringing bell along the road" Alex began. "I noticed i was the only one hearing it after asking a lady if she could hear it too. Suddenly, a dog began to bark. It touches me with it's tail and led me to a bush, under a tree. When i looked up, i couldn't believe what i saw"
"What did you see?" Kate queried.
Alex stood up, drank a quantity of the drink and looked at her bemusedly.
"You are scaring me. What did you see?" Kate also stood up.
"I saw a hanging human skeleton" Alex replied.
"Oh, my God!"
"I don't know the meaning of what just happened this morning"
"Baby, this is serious" Kate began. "I know the fact that bells signifies information. I think an information is trying to be passed to you or through you"
"What a hell do you mean by that? And what information are you talking about?" Alex was beginning to get angry. He can easily get angry and also forgets about it easily. That was part of him Kate tried to adjust.
"Alex, calm down" Kate gently held his hand, "I think the information is about the dead body you saw hanging on the tree" she concluded...
